About

Elena Kolesnikova is a pianist and composer trained at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg, where she developed her career for twelve years as a performer and teacher.

Since 2002 she has lived in Barcelona, where she continues her artistic and pedagogical work as a professor at the Liceu Higher Conservatory. Her trajectory combines the rigor of the Russian pianistic tradition with a contemporary, intimate, and deeply expressive sonic search.

She has performed in numerous chamber music ensembles with singers and instrumentalists, in venues such as the Small Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, the Concertgebouw, or the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

In addition to her work as a performer, she writes as a music critic for Opera Actual and is the author of music for theatre, including the work Hi ha algĂș? by Marc Egea, currently on stage at Sala Ars (Barcelona).

In her recent compositions, the piano becomes a space of contemplation, where fragility and awareness of the present occupy a central place.
